The paper available at the link below is the larger project on the projected book Baptist Battles as a background for the more specific presentation concerning aspects of the Downgrade Controversy that constitutes the first third of the larger project. Since January 2024 I have been engaged in the Angus Library at Regent’s Park College and elsewhere discovering more details in the primary source documents. The presentation on 27 April in Stirling will be an enrichment of the Downgrade portion of the attached paper. Ultimately Baylor University Press will publish an expanded version of the paper at this link under the working title Baptist Battles. I will bring further handouts to the meeting on 27 April.
